\nA big number of Eritrean refugees in Egypt has held a stance of support, for the report of the Commission of inquiry of the United Nations Human Rights Council, on Sunday 26 June 2016 . The refugees gathered in front of the UHNCR office, in the 6 October City in the Capital Cairo.
\nThey expressed their strong support, for the report of the Commission of inquiry of the United Nations Human Rights Council, about the gross and institutional human rights abuse committed by the Eritrean regime since 1991.
\nOn that occasion, the Eritrean Refugee Committee has issued a statement expressing its gratitude for the Eritrean refugees for their effective participation in the demonstration and for their strong support to the report of the Commission of Inquiry, about the gross human rights violations committed in Eritrea, since the dawn of the independence until today.
\nThe statement of the refugee committee stressed that the Eritrean refugees in Egypt are directly involved in the report of the Commission of Inquiry because they are part of the victims of human rights violations and crimes against humanity which are committed in Eritrea. These refugees, like many other Eritrean refugees in other parts of the world, have fled their country seeking for safety and human dignity and not as a result of economic reasons, as the ruling regime in Eritrea and its collaborators always propagate.
\nAt the end of the demonstration, the committee demands the international community on behalf of the refugees, to bring all the perpetrators of human rights violations and crimes against humanity in Eritrea to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to bring about justice for the Eritrean people of at home and in the Diaspora.
\nIt also called the UNHCR office in Egypt, to put the report of the Commission of Inquiry into consideration and provide the Eritrean refugees with protection, help to release the prisoners from the Egyptian prisons and accelerate the process of their resettlement to stop the refugees drowning tragedy in the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n
